Content Selection Strategy Report « Video Active

At the EDL Project Conference, Sonja de Leeuw outlined an interesting report from the Videoactive project about how they are going to prioritise content - the main priorities are
* Education
* European Integration
* Wars and Conflict
* Religion
* Food and Drink

They are selecting about 20 programmes for each of these topics - and are hoping to pick up some controversial programming within these - and had discussed the 1960s Sexual Revolution as a topic. The document also has the schema they are proposing to use.

The portal is due to launch in February.

Earlier Claudia Dillman spoke about the German Film Portal, and highlighted that one key film that they wanted to contribute to the EDL maquette was on YouTube, but they did not have copyright clearance, as the rightsowner is too frail to give permission.
